The VSDC Life-Affirming Thanksgiving is an annual event that brings together vegetarians and non-vegetarians to enjoy compassionate and healthy food and a wonderful social setting.
So join us to celebrate with hundreds of people with a gourmet, all-vegan feast at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda in Bethesda, MD, on Thursday, November 27, 2014. The programming includes a guest speaker, exhibitors, exciting door prizes, a silent auction fundraiser, and a live musical act following lunch.
VSDC is delighted to have Tracye McQuirter as our guest speaker this year. A vegan trailblazer, public health nutritionist, author, and lecturer, Tracye McQuirter has been named a national food hero who is changing the way America eats for the better by Vegetarian Times, and her national best-seller, By Any Greens Necessary, was the #1 recommended vegan book on The Huffington Post. Tracye co-founded one of the first vegan web sites 15 years ago, and was selected as the first program director of the VSDC Eat Smart Program, the nation’s first federally funded vegan nutrition program.
Our live musical guest will be Aggressive Pedestrian - a husband-and-wife vegan duo on guitar, piano, and ukulele. Their acoustic singer-songwriter style relies on thoughtful lyrics and simple melodies.
And what is Thanksgiving without spectacular, abundant food! Our delicious menu is given below so plan to come at noon for registration and appetizers. The meal starts just after 1:00 pm. Details for the 2014 event are being finalized and you can read updates on this webpage.
