The Veg Society of DC (VSDC) Vegan Thanksgiving Celebration is an annual event that brings together vegans, vegetarians, and non-vegetarians to enjoy compassionate and healthy, vegan food in a wonderful and warm social setting.

The 2018 VSDC Thanksgiving Celebration will be held November 22, from 12-4 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt in Washington DC.

We’re excited to announce Ruby Lathon, Ph.D., as our featured speaker this year! 

Dr. Ruby Lathon is a certified holistic nutritionist and inspires with a powerful story of recovering from thyroid cancer through alternative treatment focused on a whole food, plant-based diet. Dr. Lathon was featured in the hit documentary, What the Health and will be featured in two upcoming health documentaries. Dr. Lathon worked as a researcher and an award-winning engineer, and now teaches others how to re-engineer their health and live disease free.


The event programming also includes exhibitors, exciting door prizes, a silent auction fundraiser, an all-ages kids activity, and live music. So join us to celebrate with hundreds of people with a gourmet, all-vegan feast!


We have a delicious and abundant feast planned. The buffet is all-vegan, with non-GMO ingredients, and many gluten-free options.  Last year's menu is given...to whet your appetite.

$80 – Adult, VSDC non-member

$45 – Children (3-11 years)

Free – Baby (0-2 years)

Registration after Nov 1 (if space is available):

$75 – Adult, VSDC member

$85 – Adult, VSDC non-member

$50 – Children (3-11 years)

Free – Baby (0-2 years)

This is a good option if you are buying multiple tickets, but carries higher convenience fees.


Remember: You must register in advance, walk-ins will not be accepted. All registrations are final and seating is first-come first served. Guests are asked to arrive at noon for registration and appetizers. Doors close at 1 pm, when the meal starts.

Your registration is not confirmed until we receive your payment and send you a confirmation (preferably by email). If you have not received a confirmation for your registration by Monday, November 19, or have other important questions, please contact thanksgiving@vsdc.org.

2016 VSDC THANKSGIVING


The 2016 VSDC Life-Affirming Thanksgiving was held November 24 at the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda, Md.

The Keynote Speaker was Neal Barnard, M.D., F.A.C.C., founder of the Barnard Medical Center and the nonprofit Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), and one of America’s leading advocates for health, nutrition, and higher standards in research.
