Please join the Veg Society of DC Book Club discussion of Healthy at Last: A Plant-Based Approach to Preventing and Reversing Diabetes and Other Chronic Illnesses by Eric Adams.
***THIS MEETING MARKS 30 YEARS OF THE VSDC BOOK CLUB ***
***Meeting time tentative as we figure out if this will be an online or in-person discussion.***
Adams woke up with severe vision loss one day in 2016, and was told it was due to diabetes. He adopted a whole-foods plant-based diet, and his health improved within months. Now he is on a mission to revolutionize the health of African Americans across the country. Adams was elected as mayor of New York City in November 2021 and takes office on January 1, 2022.
To participate you must read at least half the book—and RSVP at least two days before the meeting.
The VSDC Book Club began meeting online in March 2020 (previously we met in vegetarian restaurants in DC or nearby Maryland or Virginia). People who RSVP yes will get the details to join the discussion (the weekend before the meeting). The details will not be posted on meetup.
We read fiction and nonfiction in alternating months, about any topic. For more information (including everything we have read over 29 years!) visit https://vsdc.org/Book-Club or contact Beth through meet up (http://www.meetup.com/vegan-28/message/?recipientId=1642817).
Don’t be a no show! If your plans change, update your RSVP.
