- This event has passed.
**Note: This event is replacing a mostly-outdoor Holiday Lights Vegan Trekkers Walk that was scheduled at the same time – but due to a rainy weather forecast, we changed to a nearby indoor activity.**
Let’s meet at [Hip City Veg ](https://hipcityveg.com/locations/)712 7th Street NW to order dinner at 5pm. We’ll take our food to the nearby [Kogod Courtyard](https://americanart.si.edu/visit/saam/kogod-courtyard) (enclosed and heated) which is part of the National Portrait Gallery.
After eating, we’ll visit the National Portrait Gallery – including the portrait of [Oprah Winfrey](https://npg.si.edu/exhibition/oprah-winfrey) (unveiled on Dec. 13), and, as time permits, other exhibits such as [Forces of Nature: Voices that Shaped Environmentalism,](https://npg.si.edu/exhibition/forces-nature-voices-shaped-environmentalism-0) and [One Life: Frederick Douglass](https://npg.si.edu/exhibition/one-life-frederick_douglass). The National Portrait Gallery closes at 7pm, so if you want to see a lot of art – don’t be late!
