Please join us for VSDC’s inaugural bike ride and to see the sights on bike! We’ll meet at 10 am on Sunday, Sep 19.

This event is for those who are fully vaccinated only. Also please do not attend if you are sick or have been near someone who thinks they may have or have been exposed to COVID-19. VSDC greatly appreciates your cooperation.

Length: 12 miles. Mostly flat.
Bike time: 1.5 hours at an easy pace.
Total time: 3 hours (including stops, lunch and exploration).
Lunch spot: Hains Point.
Food/Water: Bring your own vegan snacks and (non-alcoholic) beverage to enjoy. Please carry plenty of water!
Weather: we will not be riding in rain so stay tuned for Comments on this page.
To find us: We will be in the Lyndon Baines Johnson Memorial Grove parking lot. The organizers will be wearing green VSDC tee shirts.
Before the ride: we will do a quick check of our bikes. Be sure your bike is in good working order ahead of time.
During the ride: we will plan to stop often to let the group gather together and explore the sights and memorials.
After the ride: we will have an optional session for tips on self maintenance of our bikes. This would include cleaning, lubrication and basic adjustments. This is an informational session only.

RULES
– Pets are not allowed
– Use of intoxicants such as alcohol, cigarettes and/or illegal substances is banned during this event.
– Practice safe biking habits including:
* Wearing a bike helmet
* Keeping a safe distance between each other (bikes don’t have brake lights and tailgating can easily result in crashes)
* Avoid side by side riding unless the road gives us ample opportunity
