Please join the Veg Society of DC Book Club discussion of “Better Living Through Birding: Notes from a Black Man in the Natural World” by Christian Cooper. This meeting will take place online, via zoom.
The book “is about growing up as a birdwatcher, as a closeted gay boy and a Marvel comics nerd and then, as an adult, writing for Marvel Comics, becoming a gay activist and now hosting a National Geographic show … But a lot of people know him as the birdwatcher who asked a white woman in Central Park to follow the rules and leash her dog. To participate you must read at least half the book — and RSVP at least two days before the meeting. People who RSVP yes will get the details to join the discussion (the weekend before the meeting). The details will not be posted on meetup.
The VSDC Book Club began meeting online in March 2020 (previously we met in vegetarian restaurants in DC or nearby Maryland or Virginia).
