Join the [Veg Society of DC](vsdc.org) for our monthly vegan potluck in January to celebrate Veganuary! Share vegan culinary delights with great company near downtown Silver Spring MD.
The potluck starts at 12 pm and will go until about 3 pm. There is no charge to attend the event.
**About Veganuary**
Since Veganuary was started in 2014, millions of people have [signed up ](https://veganuary.com/en-us/try-vegan/)to take the vegan pledge for the month of January, and now Veganuary has participants in almost every country in the world.
Throughout the year, Veganuary encourages and supports people and businesses alike to move to a plant-based diet as a way of protecting the environment, preventing animal suffering, and improving the health of millions of people.

**PLEASE NOTE:**
*- Plan your attendance well in advance, find your best way to the event with the address and directions, and allow plenty of time to reach the event location.*
*- If you are unable to attend, please change your RSVP to “Not going” so others can come.*
*- Meetup automatically moves people from the “Waitlist”.*
*- The hosts / organizers will only respond to inquiries before the time the RSVPs close the day before the event; we cannot commit to inquiries on the day of the event.*
**Items to bring to the potluck:**
– Vegan potluck dish (no animal products of any kind) to share. For food quantity, please bring 4 to 6 times the number of servings times the number in your party.
– A serving utensil for your dish
– Ingredients list or recipe for your dish
– Beverage for yourself or one to share
– To help reduce waste, bring your reusable plate, cup, and utensils
VSDC will provide basic supplies and drinking water.
Also please be sure to help leave the space clean before leaving the potluck and take the containers and utensils you brought with you.
*Friendly reminder: vegans do not consume any animal products or byproducts (no meat, chicken/poultry, fish/sea animals, eggs, milk or dairy products, honey, etc).*

“The Community Room” is upstairs on the 1st floor.
**Parking:** There is free parking. Please bear RIGHT at the fork when you come into the condo complex and park in any appropriate space. Disregard the “Resident Only” signs but you must register your car with the front desk.
This location is about 2 miles from the Silver Spring metro station on the Red Line so public transportation is not easy.
**Weather:** In case of bad weather, be sure to check the Comments on this webpage for any updates by the organizers the morning of the event.
