*UPDATE @10:40 am Sun Aug 18: David and I are planning to hold the picnic and be there by 3:30 pm today, even though it looks like there will be some rain. Please come if you are able and feel safe. If the rain gets worse and/or there are thunderstorms, we will end the picnic early. We will be able to drop several people by car to a nearby subway and encourage others to do so as well. We’re hoping for the weather to be fine because we have such a great crowd who will have a wonderful time together.*
What better way than to spend a Sunday afternoon sharing vegan culinary delights with great company in the park?! Join [VSDC](vsdc.org) and vegan meetup friends for a summer picnic in Rock Creek Park in NW DC. The picnic starts at 4 pm and we have the space reserved until 6 pm so please plan to stay until then. There is no charge to attend the picnic.
Items to bring to the picnic:
– Vegan potluck dish (no animal products of any kind) to share. For food quantity, please bring 4 to 6 times the number of servings times the number in your party.
– A serving utensil for your dish
– Ingredients list or recipe for your dish
– Beverage for yourself or one to share (no alcohol allowed on premises)
– Help reduce waste so please bring your reusable plate, cup and utensils
Note: VSDC will provide basic supplies, drinking water, and ice.
Friendly reminder: vegans do not consume any animal products or byproducts (no meat, chicken/poultry, fish/sea animals, eggs, milk or dairy products, honey, etc).

**Free Parking**
Yes, there is a parking area adjacent to the picnic area. It can not be blocked off or reserved.
